ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MIDDLEFIELD DOG PARK!
Eagle Scout Tyler Sibley and The Middlefield Dog Owner's Group are proud to remind everyone that April 1, 2010 is the official one year anniversary of the opening of the Middlefield Dog Park. Operations are running smoothly, with an estimated 100 visitors per week. We are all thrilled by the current success of the park, as well as the number of truly satisfied visitors we see each and every week. Dog owners are picking up after their dogs, we have received numerous wonderful testimonials on the benefits of the park, and there are many new "Friends of the Park". Please stop by and check out the park.

We have received a generous cash donation to install a shallow well hand pump for drinking water for the dogs.  Conservation Commission & Selectmen approval has been granted & we are awaiting final approval from the Town Sanitarian (SEE TOWN TIME ARTICLE HERE)  If all goes as planned, we should have water at the park soon!

We are still looking for cash donations to be able to provide durable pavers for the high traffic transition area, and additional stone to finish off the parking lot. The park is 100% maintained by volunteers, and all those who enjoy the park should help by adding their financial support to the park. Feel free to call Tyler @ 860-349-1954 for more information.

Overview

Tyler Sibley, a Middlefield Boy Scout with an ambitious Eagle Scout project and the Town of Middlefield, joined forces to raise the funds (and supply the volunteer labor necessary) to construct our beautiful, new dog park right here in Middlefield!

The park is located on the beautiful 75 acre open space parcel known as The King Property, nestled on Beseck Mountain. It offers an opportunity for dogs to safely run leash-free, and owners to socialize with other dog lovers. The park consists of approximately one acre of woodland, enclosed with a continuous 5' tall chain link fence. There are separate fenced areas for both large and small (or timid) dogs
